FAQS

When will I get my meat?

Animals are currently on pasture until summer. They are scheduled for butcher in June and July.

How much freezer space will I need?

Depending on how you stack your meat and whether you have an upright or chest freezer, you will need at least 4.5 cubic feet for every quarter of a cow. If space is a factor, we recommend you discuss the option of splitting a 1/4 with family, friends or neighbors!

Can I buy less than a 1/4?

At this time the current laws and regulations do not allow us to sell meat directly to you. Instead we must sell you the animal before slaughter and the local butchers do not allow animals to be split in smaller than 1/4's.

What if I can't purchase a whole 1/4?

Just because you can't currently purchase a 1/4 doesn't mean you can't buy high quality grass fed beef from us! Talk to your friends and family to see if they would also be interested and maybe you can work something out. (The butcher cannot split the 1/4 for you)

What breed are the cattle?

The cattle are Angus and Angus/Hereford Cross.

How do I receive my beef?

First make a deposit on the beef you would like to purchase. The week before harvest you will be contacted to make your final payment. Animals will then be transferred to the local butcher (Diamond S or Merle's) for harvest. You will be contacted by the butcher when your meat is ready to be picked up. Butcher will collect their portion upon pick up.
